Beginning

Pepperstone is an online trading broker founded in 2010 and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia with global offices in London, Cyprus, Nassau, Dusseldorf, Nairobi and Dubai. They offer traders a wide choice of over 1,200 instruments to trade including CFDs on Forex, Commodities, Cryptocurrencies, Shares, Indices and ETFs, all through MetaTrader 4/5, cTrader , WebTrader, TradingView and mobile trading platforms. They also offer spread betting for UK customers.

Pepperstone is considered one of the best trading brokers handling an average of US$8.3 billion in trades per day and providing online trading to over 170+ countries. They provide traders worldwide access to trade across all markets with cutting-edge technology, low-cost spreads, high-speed low-latency execution and unmatched customer service. Award Winner. The broker has won many awards over the years, including forex broker excellence, customer support, innovative technology and providing the best possible trading conditions to clients .

Trading conditions

Pepperstone incorporates an execution-only trading model that ensures direct access to a deep pool of liquidity providers without a dealing desk or execution. Having direct access to a large liquidity pool helps ensure the lowest possible spreads and fast execution speeds for all levels of traders. This is great if you are scalping or using automated trading robots.

Pepperstone uses technology developed to support institutional trade flows for those trading large single ticket sizes. They can handle multiple order executions to execute larger orders at multiple levels into one liquidity aggregator. Your order is executed without requotes on a “market execution” basis with positive and negative slippage and without broker intervention.

This means that there will not be any conflicts of interest between you, the trader and the broker. It also means you can get your trade at the price you desire. Nothing can be more frustrating than submitting an order and having it rejected for a less favorable price.

While they use the latest trading technology, they are committed to staying up to date with the latest innovations to further improve their services where possible. Pepperstone’s vision is to become the world’s largest brokerage by providing investors from all backgrounds access to easier and fairer online trading. After many years with them, I can confidently say that they have delivered from my perspective.

Trading platforms

Pepperstone offers a wide selection of online trading platforms including the very popular MetaTrader 4 for Windows, MAC and mobile devices. They also offer cTrader, WebTrader and mobile trading apps for iPhone/Android to trade the markets from anywhere and whenever you want, with reliable platforms and fast execution speeds such as blink.

These powerful trading platforms are provided free of charge by Pepperstone and incorporate expert-like tools to help you conduct in-depth market analysis and trade effectively.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, you can use these user-friendly platforms for basic trading or more complex market analysis. Whatever your trading style, they can be fully customized to your own needs.

I like running automated systems so I am a fan of MetaTrader 4. It is also used by most brokers, which means I can use my MT4 skills on other platforms. different companies without being tied to one broker. I would be disappointed if I mastered a proprietary platform but then wanted to switch brokers and had to relearn a new platform.

MetaTrader 4 (MT4)

MT4 is probably the world’s most popular trading platform used by millions of traders of all experience levels globally. It is developed by trading software company MetaQuotes and is known to be user-friendly. MT4 has a wide range of technical indicators and trading tools implemented while there are thousands of technical indicators and trading tools available for free online.

I found it very easy to use, it’s literally a matter of activating the chart, choosing a timeframe, placing some indicators on the chart and waiting for a trading signal. It’s easy to do everything from chart analysis to placing and managing trades. You can seamlessly switch between the desktop version of MT4 and the app to manage your account as it suits you.

Despite the positives of this very good platform, it is limited in terms of chart timeframes, order types and indicators when compared to its successor MT5. That platform has more functionality but if you are a casual trader who just wants quick and easy access to the markets, MT4 is more than enough. Furthermore, you can find many tools on the MQL market if you want to improve the platform’s capabilities beyond the default.

MetaTrader 4’s features:

  • Get real-time buy/sell quotes in the market watch window
  • Many chart types and time frames
  • Support for market orders, pending &; limit
  • Customize MT4 charts and indicators according to your trading preferences
  • Develop and run automated trading systems (expert advisors) in MQL4
  • Identify high probability trades with Autochartist analysis software
  • A wide range of technical indicators and EAs with Smart Trading Tools
  • Alert notifications via email, SMS and pop-ups
  • Access historical data
  • Social/copy trading functionality
  • MetaTrader 4 (Windows/MAC)
  • MetaTrader WebTrader
  • MetaTrader App (iPhone / iPad / Android / Tablet)

MetaTrader 5 (MT5)

The MT5 trading platform is an updated version of MT4 maintaining most of the same features along with greater functionality. Despite this, many traders still prefer MT4 due to its ease of use and the many add-ons that have been developed and are available.

However, I always tend to think of MT4 as more of a forex trading platform, while MT5 is probably better as a stock trading platform. In the long term, there is a possibility that MT4 could become obsolete. Therefore, if I were starting from scratch today and had not yet mastered MT4, I would probably lean towards MT5 as it offers all the functionalities of MT4 and more.

MetaTrader 5’s features:

  • Similar features to MT4 with more indicators, timeframes and chart types
  • Customizable charts and indicators
  • Additional order types
  • Depth of Market (DOM)
  • Built in economic calendar
  • Code custom indicators and multi-currency EAs using the MQL5 programming language
  • Enjoy faster processing
  • Tailor to your trading style with advanced customization for endless possibilities
  • Access historical data
  • Social/copy trading functionality
  • MetaTrader 5 (Windows/MAC)
  • MetaTrader WebTrader
  • MetaTrader App (iPhone / iPad / Android / Tablet)

cTrader

cTrader offers professional online trading with an intuitive platform design that replicates an institutional trading environment. It is also ideal for beginners due to its intuitive and user-friendly interface. It also has more sophisticated automation features if this is important to you.

Having said that, you won’t find anywhere near as many add-ons for cTrader as MetaTrader due to its popularity and availability. The differences between platforms probably won’t matter to the average trader, and I’m sure traders intuitively already know what they’re looking for.

cTrader’s features:

  • Suitable for new and professional traders
  • Control slippage and order execution with advanced cTrader features
  • Access the FIX API
  • Code in C# with cTrader Automate
  • Customizable charts and indicators
  • Session times are adjustable
  • Depth of market functionality
  • Advanced take profit/stop loss levels
  • Detachable chart for multiple screens
  • Social/copy trading functionality
  • Profiles, templates and passwords are stored in the cloud
  • cTrader WebTrader
  • cTrader Algo
  • cTrader mobile

Tools

Pepperstone has a wide selection of trading tools to help you manage trading risk, improve your trading strategy and stay up to date with the latest market movements. You can easily use the tools that are already built into the platform but I like it when a broker offers some additional tools as I am always looking to improve my trading strategy. I think it also emphasizes the fact that they care about their clients making informed trading decisions and shows that they are willing to invest in their services.

Smart trading tool for MetaTrader

You can unlock your trading potential with 28 tools, expert advisors and indicators exclusive to the MetaTrader platform.

cTrader Automate

You can build automated trading robots and custom indicators in the popular C# language using the cTrader API.

Transaction API

Pepperstone provides you with API technology that allows you to access their industry-leading liquidity feeds from within your own platform. This allows you to create and deploy your own custom trading solutions. I can say that the brokers FIX API solution is comparable to Global Prime.

Autochartist

Pepperstone Technical Analysis software powered by Autochartist is available to customers at no additional charge. This trading software can continuously scan your chosen markets for potential trading setups. It has a built-in pattern recognition engine to alert you when trading opportunities are identified, which can be filtered by probability based on historical success. Subscribers receive daily market reports including economic news and market analysis. Autochartist can help eliminate market noise and allow traders to focus on trading opportunities with the powerful Autochartist market scanner.

If you need some inspiration for what to trade, here is a great tool to find trading signals on thousands of instruments. I think it’s great that Pepperstone offers Autochartist for free to customers and is another thing that might sway you in their direction. That being said, there are other brokers that support Autochartist such as Axi.

Social trading

Pepperstone also offers clients a range of social trading platforms where you can monitor and copy trading signals from other strategy providers. This provides an automated trading solution where you can assign your own risk and choose strategies that suit your personal style. Followers can add or remove signals they are copying at any time.

If you don’t have the manual trading skills or the time to learn on your own, social trading can be a great way to take advantage of the experience of others. However, no one is a perfect trader, so don’t expect any certainty in performance. I really enjoy trading alone, that way I can learn from my own mistakes and understand the markets better in the long run.

DupliTrade

Pepperstone allows customers to diversify their investments with DupliTrade, a popular trading strategy marketplace that allows you to automate your trading. DupliTrade uses signals from exclusive traders, tapping into their expertise, allowing you to build your trading knowledge and gain a key understanding of professional techniques.

If you deposit a minimum of A$5,000, you will have access to DupliTrade’s robust portfolio of leading strategy providers, automatically traded on your own MT4 account. If you are still learning the markets, you can also practice strategies on your demo account.

MetaTrader Signals

Clients can access thousands of strategies from MetaTrader’s own social trading platform and choose to copy them directly to their Pepperstone brokerage account.

VPS hosting

Virtual private server (VPS) hosting allows traders to run their trading platform and automated algorithmic strategies, including expert advisors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a virtual machine . This means you don’t need your computer to be on all the time while minimizing the possibility of system downtime due to technology and connection failures.

Pepperstone has partnered with two popular VPS providers in FXVM and New York City Servers, to offer customers significant discounts on any available VPS plans.

If you plan on running a trading robot around the clock and can’t get your computer up and running, you may want to take advantage of discounted VPS. I’ve had a VPS for my trading for many years now, it only costs about $30 per month but probably saves me not far on electricity and is great for comparing brokers and testing out options. my automated system.

Education

Pepperstone has a range of online trading education resources including trading guides, expert webinars in English and detailed market analysis.

You will probably only find these useful if you are new to online trading. If you are experienced, the instructions are quite basic but you may find some use in daily market analysis. I find analytics helpful in spotting potential trading opportunities that I may have overlooked.

Webinars

Pepperstone offers free webinars from experts that can help you improve your trading knowledge regardless of your current expertise. There’s also an archive to catch up on previous webinars. These webinars cover a wide range of topics mainly focusing on trading basics, trading strategies and trade management.

Trading instructions

Pepperstone has a large catalog of free educational trading guides (written by third parties) to help you trade and increase your knowledge. These trading guides are updated regularly and cover a wide range of topics including how to trade forex, how to trade stocks, how to trade cryptocurrencies, trading planning, trading analysis , money management and more.

Market analysis

You’ll never have to miss a trading opportunity with high-impact economic event coverage, expert commentary, videos and more from Pepperstone’s global market analysis team. Stay updated with weekly global market news, insights and up-to-the-minute economic outlook from market experts. Learn everything you need to know about major financial events around the world that can influence market volatility and how to trade these unique opportunities. You can stay updated with Pepperstone’s experts as they review upcoming political and macroeconomic events, evaluating price action to provide you with trading opportunities on various markets from around the world. place in the world.

Economic calendar

There is an economic calendar available on the Pepperstone website that displays the latest financial news events along with their actual and forecast impact on the markets. This is a very useful tool and is often used as part of fundamental analysis in trading strategies. You can filter news by what’s most important to you and set alerts so you know when to trade or avoid the market.

Account types

Pepperstone offers a range of different account types to suit each trader’s needs. All account types are offered within retail trading leverage and margin limits. Professional clients can register to trade with higher leverage up to 1:500.

High leverage allows you to trade larger position sizes than you might otherwise have, just keep in mind that if you increase your position size, you are also increasing your risk.

You can choose between commission-free accounts with variable spreads starting from 0.6 pips, or you can choose a commission-based account where spreads start from just 0 pips with a 3 pips commission A very competitive $.5 (per lot per side), which equates to a total of $7 (per spin, per standard lot size).

Minimum deposit requirements start at $200, which is more or less what you will find from most of the top brokers today. If your budget is lower than this, check out XTB which is up there with Pepperstone in quality but requires a minimum deposit of just $5 instead.

Pepperstone offers demo accounts if you want to test different platforms and trading conditions before opening a real account with them. This can be a good way to practice online trading without any risks.

The type of account you use will depend on your trading strategy and investment size. I like low spreads because I use scalping strategies, so the Razor account is my preferred choice because it has the lowest spreads. Yes, there is a commission fee on top, but it still works out cheaper more often than not. If you do not trade often and plan to keep trading for a long time, all account types are sufficient.

It doesn’t matter how big or small your investment is, they welcome customers from all backgrounds. If you trade with them long enough, you can even negotiate better commission rates, which is a good incentive for active traders and it’s nice to see them rewarding customers for loyalty their. Not many brokers do this from my experience.

Customer support

Pepperstone offers 24/5 support via phone, chat, and email. They have won many awards for their customer service and are always available to answer any questions you may have quickly and efficiently. Pepperstone supports 12 different languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Indonesian, Italian, French, Lao, German, Polish.

I have contacted them many times over the years and have always received a quick response. This is important because you don’t want to hang around for days to get a response, especially when the market is moving quickly and you have time-sensitive questions to ask.

The Pepperstone management team comes from a trading background with many years of industry experience and therefore has a deep understanding of what retail traders require to be able to trade effectively.

Bonuses

Pepperstone offers a wide range of convenient and user-friendly deposit and withdrawal options. This includes bank transfers, credit/debit cards and eWallets. Fees may be charged when using certain payment methods. Bank transfers may take several business days to complete.

I use many different digital wallets so I find this a more convenient option. Especially if there is big market news and I need to quickly fund my trading account. I don’t want to wait days for a bank transfer to clear and possibly miss out on the opportunity to try and take advantage of the news.

Accounts can be opened in USD, GBP, EUR, CHF, JPY, NZD, CAD, SGD, HKD &; AUD. Different currency options are beneficial because currency conversion fees do not apply when using an account in your own currency. This may not affect you when sending small amounts, but fees can add up if moving larger amounts around.

Conclusion

Pepperstone is one of the most popular trading brokers with a proven track record of providing excellent and innovative trading conditions backed by industry-leading support. They are considered one of the largest forex brokers in terms of volume and have strict regulations to ensure that you can trade with confidence. They offer you a wide range of trading platforms, tools and accounts to choose from, thus making them suitable for each trader’s individual needs.

I’ve been using them for years and have never had any problems. They are always quick to answer my questions and the trading conditions are always reliable. I also didn’t have any problems with withdrawals. Whether you are an active trader or want to invest for the long term, Pepperstone is definitely worth considering.
